Schotia Safaris

Posted by PE Travel Blogger on Fri November 14, 2014 in Discover Wildlife near Port Elizabeth.

Schotia Safaris is a private Addo game reserve and Colonial guests will have the opportunity to taken as close as possible to get the best viewing of rhino, hippo, giraffe and the king of the beasts, lion.

  Schotia Safaris will try to show Belvedere and Doncaster Cottages guests as much as possible on the game drive and concentrate on the popular sightings rather than ‘the birds and the bees’.

The Schotia Safari Tour is a four hour guided game drive in an open Land Rover with a short refreshments and toilet break at the halfway point. After an amazing experience where you will view more animals than you thought possible, enjoy a delicious dinner which is prepared over an open fire. A short, spotlit night drive providing the possibility of more nocturnal animals completes your experience as we return to our reception area.

The Schotia Safaris reserve presents a unique, relaxed and truly South African experience.

Schotia has a huge open air lapa, reputedly among the largest in South Africa. It has reed and sneezewood walls and is open to the African skies, except for the outer ring where a traditionally thatched roof covers the dining tables and bar area. Inside the lapa there are several large ‘Schotia’ trees and a roaring log fire. Dinner is usually traditional South African safari food.

We recommend the following tour;

Tooth & Claw Tour – 6 hours

Coldrinks and Supper in the African Boma, Park Entrance Fees

Rhino, Hippo, Giraffe, Lion, small game viewing and possible nocturnal animals. Cost is R 1000.00 per person.

At an additional cost, Schotia will pick you up at Belvedere or Doncaster Cottages and will drop you off at your front door afterwards. They are situated 50 minutes from Port Elizabeth. We can make reservations for you at any time.
