Baby Seal Rescue near Port Elizabeth

Posted by Roy says.... on Sun January 4, 2015 in Discover Wildlife near Port Elizabeth.

Sanne and Reuben, our guests from Ghent, Belgium rescued a stranded baby seal at Colchester beach near Port Elizabeth.

The quick action of Sanne & Reuben saved a baby seal that was separated from his mom due to a heavy storm earlier in the week. The exhausted little fellow was discovered when our guests went for a swim at Colchester beach. The staff at SAMREC, Port Elizabeth,  (South African Marine Rehabilitation and Education Centre) was on standby when Reuben and Sanne transported the baby seal to SAMREC.

We are all hoping that it will survive the ordeal and hopefully be re-united with its family at nearby St Croix Island.

THANK YOU TO SANNE & REUBEN FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND QUICK ACTION.
